Junior Event Coordinators Needed for 8 week Summer Program! 




Title:                                                   Junior Event Coordinator
Terms of Employment:                     Full Time for 8 weeks
Estimated Hours:                              40 hours per week (overtime may be required)
Salary:                                                $11.25/hour

Anticipated Start Date:                     June 13, 2016
Location:                                            Downtown Toronto, Ontario



Education: Preferred education in event planning, marketing, business, or a related-area of focus

Experience: Event planning; co-ordination & execution; volunteer recruiting, prefers past experience with Toronto Chinatown Festival (or similar)

Languages: Fluent spoken and written English, Mandarin or Cantonese an asset

Employer: Chinatown BIA, a Not-for-Profit organization

Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); general office equipment; emails; electronic scheduler; design software; Photoshop software



•   Communicate, liaise and work with board members; government officials, community members, volunteers and internal staff

•   Plan, execute, and coordinate for Toronto Chinatown Festival

•   Assist in developing & executing marketing and promotion plans

•   Volunteer recruitment

•   Develop outreach and communication strategies to build awareness among businesses, property owners and the local community

•   Other tasks as requested by the Board

•   Organize storage inventory

•   Manage the overall operation of the office: type and proofread correspondence, forms and other documents, receive and forward telephone or electronic enquiries, maintain and prepare reports from manual or electronic files, inventories, mailing lists and databases, process incoming and outgoing mail manually or electronically, send and receive messages, photocopy and collate documents for distribution, mailing and filing; etc
